Braided Belt

Accessories are a sure way to jazz up your outfit. Be it necklaces or earrings, they all add an appeal to your getup like nothing else can. While there are a bunch of accessories to choose from, certain accessories like belts are unisex and are popular with both, guys and girls. While there was a time when girls didn't have much to choose from, guys didn't have much more than the standard belt either. Today, however, there is so much to choose from, it's almost confusing when you're out shopping for the good looking add-ons. Girls have so much to choose from, it's possible to find something to work well with every outfit if you really want to do that. Guys too have more than they did previously. The braided leather belt is one such style. With so much improvement in both, quality as well as style, this pattern seems to have evolved too. Apart from the standard size, you will now find thick belts, skinny belts, leather belts, etc. The plaited style looks great in the skinny pattern, as does it in metallic colors. In fact, these belts are one of the more popular fashion accessories for teens as well. Since these belts are now made for everyone, let us see some of the different pieces available for men and women.

Popular Belt Patterns

The classic pattern of these belts is démodé. Yes, the conventional style hasn't really gone anywhere, but there is a lot else to choose from too. How about we see the different styles available nowadays, for guys and girls alike.

For Men
Available easily in innumerable colors and brands, this woven belt is a popular and fashionable piece to opt for. Brown is a great color when thinking of belts in general, but it isn't quite a much liked color by you, in that case you could simply pick the staple black too. A brilliant way to accessorize those classic blue jeans or even a casual pair of khakis, the braid is definitely a good look for your belt. Apart from the usual brown, variations like mahogany and tan are fine picks too. As for brands, there is more than you can think of. Don't know which ones? These are some names you could turn to... Tommy Hilfiger, Dockers, Orvis, Tommy Bahama, Torino Leather Co., Croft & Barrow, Linea Pelle. That looks like a pretty good range to pick from, right?

For Women
While the above mentioned list was for the men interested in these belts, we will now move on to something for women. Lucky for us, we have a lot more choices than the guys do. Right from color to style to texture, the collection is crazy! Skinny belts have always been popular. Imagine how cute the skinny woven belts would look then. Apart from the conventional blacks and browns, there are a ton of colors for us to choose from. Imagine accenting a well fitted pair of black skinny jeans with a skinny red belt. Or how about a wide braid worn over a really pretty dress. You'll look good, and you just know it! The standard sized belt also works well with practically every kind of outfit. Though it is denims that are best paired with this accessory. Stores and brands to check out are Forever 21, Michael Kors, Dockers, Guess, and Cole Haan. Also check out website like forever21, urbanoutfitters, and other online fashion retail stores.

Make Your Own Belt

If you are the creative kind, and want to try making your own belt, you could try your luck at that too. You'd require material like yarn or anything like that so that it can be easily braided, scissors, and a lot of free time! ;) Once you have the yarn in colors of your choice, you'll start with a single braid (3 strands in colors that match). Keep up with this braid until it is complete. Once it's done, make 2 more plaits just like that. The point is making 3 so that they can be woven together in order to make a nice broad belt. On completion of the 3 narrow ones, join them together and weave them into each other. Your belt will look wide enough to get noticed. Team it up with nice denims, shorts or a skirt, and you're good to go.

Now that you have an idea regarding these woven accessories, go ahead, get twisted and find the braid that suits you best.
